Fast, crash, yoyo, avoid, limit. The words we use to describe dieting give it away: dieting is hard, bordering on miserable, and nearly impossible to sustain. For this project, I set out to understand how to make dieting easier for different types of users and led multi-phased research to inform a personalized diet. The user-centered diet increased subscriber retention by 13 percentage points.
My team and I set out to understand users’ unmet needs when deciding what to eat and laid the groundwork for a product subscribers use daily.
I detail how I helped my team overcome the challenge of incomplete data and crafted a new metric for my organization.
Kids want a playground that feels dangerous, and parents want to keep their kids safe. There’s a parallel for teen safety online. Everyone agrees that protecting teens from harm online is important, but teens don’t want a teen-specific experience. In this project, I helped my team understand teens and the issues they face and reoriented us all around a new vision and strategy.
